'Rock Solid Websites' was my first website built specifically to sell my web design services to the general public. I launched with 3 websites in my portfolio and no other services available.

Became fully self-employed
Goodbye Employers!
By 2004 I had already sold over 50 websites and was ready to take my career to the next level. After months of planning and saving I took the plunge and left employment to become 100% self-employed.

In my early days of web design, SEO was a relatively simple endeavour By 2006 it had become big business and something I had already work extensively in. So I made it a sellable service.

In 2007 I moved to Huddersfield to be with my (now) wife. A opportunity to run a web department for a publishing company appeared and I jumped at the opportunity for fresh experience and new challenges.

Back to Blackpool & Freelancing
The Next Level Beckons!
After a year in Huddersfield my partner and I decided to move back to Blackpool to be closer to our families. I returned to freelancing as a sole-trader. This time with a much more mature outlook on the fundamentals of running a business. My short time running the web department in Huddersfield had given me invaluable experience.

Introducing The Web Marketeer!
The Web Marketeer project was my first time offering a full range of online marketing solutions. This as the first time I introduced social media management as a service along with PPC and press-release campaigns.
September 2021
A family crisis was the priority.
Homeschool's Headteacher
ASD is a fairly standard part of my family history. I was diagnosed with Asperger's in the 90s. In September 2021 it had become apparent my son was struggling too much to continue in School and I made the decision to homeschool. SBM came to an end and I continued as a part-time freelancer to allow my focus to be on my youngling. For the foreseeable I would not market or look for new clients. I am eternally grateful for the clients that stuck with me through this period.

Getting Back On Track!
After a life-changing few years my home-schooled son is back on track and becoming a very confident young man. At 14 he can build a website better than most and his general confidence and ability continues to go from strength to strength. With a new appreciation of life, I decided to open up to new clients and began the task of deciding the best route forward.
